The Panthers waived Gary Jennings Jr. Saturday as they began cutting their roster towards 53 players, ahead of the August 29th deadline.

Fantasy Impact

Jennings was a fourth-round pick of Seattle in 2019, but the West Virginia product has never registered a catch in a regular season game. With Adam Thielen, DJ Chark Jr., and Jonathan Mingo slated to start in 11 personnel for Carolina, the team feels they also have enough depth outside of Jennings.

Gary Jennings (coach's decision) is inactive for Seattle's Week 1 matchup against the Bengals.

With David Moore out, the decision to inactivate Jennings is a bit surprising. The Seahawks will prominently feature Tyler Lockett and DK Metcalf on Sunday.

Metcalf on day-two but also Jennings in the fourth. A speedy down-field threat with excellent ability to come down with a contested ball, Jennings could be on the fast track for Baldwin's role should his career indeed be over.
