Week 3 Outlook
George Selvie recorded four tackles and a sack last night, frequently pressuring quarterback Eli Manning.
Selvie was the biggest factor on the defensive line for the Cowboys last night, frustrating Eli Manning and recording his second sack of the season. Selvie, and the whole defensive line, has been a disappointment this year with recording sacks, but they were in Manning's face all night. Selvie and the Dallas defense will face a better offensive line on Thursday when they face the Eagles, looking to continue their good form. The Cowboys have recorded six sacks in the past two games; Selvie needs to regain his seven sack form of 2013 for that run of success to continue.
Despite getting every opportunity to become a solid contributor for a thin Cowboys defense, Selvie has struggled with productivity and nagging injuries thus far in 2014. Selvie was penciled in to fill the void left by the free agency departure of DeMarcus Ware, but instead has only recorded four total tackles through four games.
It is probably time for owners to cut bait on Selvie. There are likely better DL options in most leagues than a player who averages a tackle per game.
