Grant Calcaterra is returning to the Philadelphia Eagles on a one-year deal according to multiple reports.
Fantasy Impact
After catching a career-high 24 passes for 298 yards with the Eagles in 2024, Calcaterra came crashing back to Earth last season. The tight end caught just nine passes for 76 yards in 15 games in 2025 while playing 40% of Philadelphia's offensive snaps. Part of the reason was that Dallas Goedert missed only two games last season after missing seven contests in 2024. Calcaterra filled in admirably in Goedert's place two seasons ago, and, on the surface, it appears that the four-year veteran may be replacing Goedert as the Eagles' starting tight end. Philadelphia also brought in veteran Johnny Mundt to compete, but Mundt is known more as a blocker than as a pass catcher.
Grant Calcaterra was limited in practice on Thursday.
Fantasy Impact
Calcaterra returned to practice after he was sidelined on Wednesday. He should be good to go in his reserve role behind Dallas Goedert.

Calcaterra left the Eagles’ Week 18 loss to the Commanders with the injury. His status is up in the air for the Wild Card round this weekend.
Grant Calcaterra caught two of his three targets for 21 yards and a touchdown in a 24-17 loss to the Commanders in Week 18.
Fantasy Impact
Calcaterra got the scoring started in the game with a 15-yard catch in the second quarter. The veteran tight end saw some extra run with the Eagles resting several key starters on offense, including Dallas Goedert. Calcaterra will return to a reserve role in next week's Wild-Card matchup against the 49ers.
Grant Calcaterra (oblique) was listed as a limited participant at practice on Wednesday.
Fantasy Impact
Philadelphia has a somewhat sizeable injury report heading into Week 8, and it includes Calcaterra, who was left sidelined last week due to an oblique injury. If he is cleared to play in time for Sunday's game, he will be primed for more work in the event that Dallas Goedert (calf) is ruled out ahead of game time for the Eagles.
