Isaiah Likely
TE - BAL
2022 Outlook
Baltimore Ravens rookie tight end Isaiah Likely has made a name for himself during minicamp. As Jamison Hensley of ESPN writes, Likely "was the star of the final day of minicamp, when he caught several touchdown passes during red-zone drills including a spectacular one-handed grab."
Fantasy Impact
Not only has Likely drawn praise from Hensley, but his teammates have taken notice, too. Safety Tony Jefferson said, "Watch out for this guy. He's gonna be really good." Meanwhile, quarterback Lamar Jackson remarked, "It was a tremendous catch, so the sky's the limit." Likely doesn't have a chance to compete with Mark Andrews for the No. 1 tight end role, but it looks like he has a chance to emerge as the No. 2 option over veteran Nick Boyle and fellow rookie Charlie Kolar.
The Baltimore Ravens selected TE Isaiah Likely with the No. 139 overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft.
Fantasy Impact
The 6-foot-4, 245-pound former WR from Coastal Carolina has a NextGen Stats score of 77 and led all FBS tight ends with 12 receiving touchdowns in 2021. Likely caught 59 receptions for 912 yards, and he profiles as an F tight end. He easily stretches the field in the passing game but needs improvement in his blocking technique. In light of the Ravens drafting Charlie Kolar just 11 picks ahead of Likely, fantasy managers may want to wait to see how the depth chart shakes out behind TE1 Mark Andrews.
NFL Insider Ian Rapoport reported that former Coastal Carolina TE Isaiah Likely visited with the Buffalo Bills on Thursday.
Fantasy Impact
Likely projects to be a “move” TE rather than a traditional inline “Y” at the next level due to his smaller stature for the position. He’s a natural receiver who runs great routes for a TE and consistently ran past linebackers at Coastal Carolina, but his size and play strength will be a concern for NFL teams and will limit his snaps to passing downs early in his career. If Likely were selected by the Bills, 2021 break out TE Dawson Knox would be impacted the most fantasy wise. Knox, who finished as a TE1 in 2021, played upwards of 80% of the Bills snaps in 12 of 15 games last season. The Bills don’t often run two TE sets, so the addition of Likely would likely eat into Knox’s snaps and hinder his ability to produce TE1 numbers again.
