The Jacksonville Jaguars are elevating RB Jake Funk from their practice squad for Week 7's London contest against the New England Patriots.
Fantasy Impact
While not an outright statement, the Jaguars' elevation of Funk should raise some eyebrows concerning the health status of RB Travis Etienne Jr. (hamstring), who was limited all week and is listed as questionable. Hamstring injuries can be tricky, and the Jags could have elevated Funk as further insurance. Etienne's status should be monitored closely ahead of the early morning kickoff, giving room for plenty of pivot options should he be a late scratch. Funk has five career touches over multiple NFL seasons and should be nothing more than a special teams option behind RBs Tank Bigbsy and D'Ernest Johnson.
The Jaguars have signed RB Jake Funk to their practice squad.
Fantasy Impact
Funk was currently a free agent after spending time with the Lions in training camp. He will likely provide insurance for any injuries to running backs on the 53-man roster, but should not be rostered in fantasy.
Jake Funk took 10 carries for 40 yards in the Lions 24-17 win over the Steelers. He also caught 1-of-4 targets for two yards receiving and a touchdown.
Fantasy Impact
Funk signed a reserve/future contract back in January with Detroit. He is competing for a depth role in the Lions backfield.
The Packers worked out free agent running back Jake Funk Monday.
Fantasy Impact
Funk appeared in one game with the Dolphins back in Week 1, where he logged three touches against Jacksonville. The 25-year-old has bounced around and could find a new home with the Packers if they choose to sign him.
The Dolphins have signed free agent RB Jake Funk to their practice squad.
Fantasy Impact
The Colts waived Funk on Saturday and cleared Monday, freeing him to sign with any team. With the recent injury to De’Von Achane, Funk will provide the Dolphins with depth should they lose another running back on their active roster.
