James Bradberry
CB - PHI
This Week Outlook
James Bradberry is signing a one-year, $10 million deal with the Philadelphia Eagles. The deal include $7.25 million guaranteed and the rest in incentives.
Fantasy Impact
This is a huge get for Philly as they pair Darius Slay up with James Bradberry. The two veteran corners will be a great tandem for a team that made a lot of moves this offseason after a surprising postseason appearance last year. Bradberry, at age 28, still should have a lot left in the tank and the one-year prove it deal will give him a huge opportunity to perform.
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports that the New York Giants have released CB James Bradberry.
Fantasy Impact
Reports of the Giants desire to trade Bradberry have been circulating for the majority of the offseason, but with the Giants being unable to find a willing trade partner they have decided to release the former Pro Bowler. After his stellar 2020 campaign, Bradberry’s on field play dipped in 2021, ranking as just 58th best CB according to PFF’s player grades. The Giants lack of cap space and Bradberry’s large contract was the ultimate driver behind his release from the team. Bradberry is a player who can still contribute as a starting caliber player, so he should receive some quick interest from CB needy teams.
Giants GM Joe Schoen disclosed that the team is receiving calls about trade possibilities involving James Bradberry.
Fantasy Impact
The 28-year-old is not participating in voluntary workouts with the Giants, so it appears the cornerback is a possible trade candidate. In his six-year career, Bradberry has 15 interceptions, four forced fumbles, three sacks, and 380 tackles.
The Kansas City Chiefs have expressed interest in acquiring CB James Bradberry.
Fantasy Impact
With the new money they received from the Tyreek Hill trade, the Chiefs have additional cap space and are looking to put it towards shoring up the defense, specifically the secondary. They have shown interest in Stephon Gilmore and now James Bradberry, and they may work on a trade for the veteran CB. This is a notable situation to monitor.
Trade rumors continue to percolate surrounding Giants cornerback James Bradberry. According to ESPN's Jordan Raanan, "the belief is the Giants' ask isn't much." However, he speculates that Bradberry "still might be tough to get."
Fantasy Impact
Bradberry has spent the past two seasons with the Giants, including a 2020 campaign in which he was selected to the Pro Bowl. This past year, he appeared in all 17 games, drawing 16 starts. He defended 17 passes, picked off four, logged 47 tackles, and recovered two fumbles. As free agency progresses, it will be interesting to see if teams pursue a trade for Bradberry rather than sign some of the lower-tier corners on the market.
