RB - SF - IR
This Week Outlook
The 49ers placed RB JaMycal Hasty (collarbone) on injured reserve.
Hasty fractured his collarbone in the 49ers' Week 10 loss to the Saints, so he was always going to be landing on IR. The 24-year-old former UDFA flashed at times this season but he's likely out for the remainder of 2020. Fantasy managers in redraft leagues can drop him, though he's worth stashing in deeper dynasty formats. Raheem Mostert is expected back after San Francisco's Week 11 bye.
JaMycal Hasty rushed three times for 13 yards and caught both of his targets for negative yardage during the 49ers' 13-27 loss to the Saints on Sunday.
Hasty clearly operated behind Jerick McKinnon who saw 18 carries and three targets in the passing game. None of that matters now, however, as Hasty has been diagnosed with a broken collarbone and is expected to miss the rest of the season. Another brutal injury for the beat-up 49ers'.
49ers RB JaMycal Hasty suffered a broken collarbone in the 49ers' Week 10 loss to the Saints.
Hasty totaled nine yards on five touches before exiting with the injury. The team has a Week 11 bye at which point Raheem Mostert (ankle) is expected to return. Jerick McKinnnon will likely mix in as well. Hasty can be dropped from redraft rosters ahead of waivers this week.
JaMycal Hasty rushed four times for three yards and hauled in both of his targets for 10 yards during the 49ers' 17-34 loss to the Packers in Week 9.
Oh, the 49ers' backfield. Hasty was expected to lead the 49ers' backfield heading into Thursday but that was not the case at all. Jerick McKinnon, who was given three total carries in Week 8, received the bulk of touches out of the backfield on Thursday and was much more efficient. Hasty really struggled on each of his four carries and McKinnon looked like the superior back against the Packers. Based on Thursday's usage it would seem that McKinnon is the RB1 in this offense, but the 49ers' backfield rotation has changed plenty of times throughout the season and has become impossible to predict on a week-to-week basis. Hasty should remain on benches heading into a Week 10 matchup against the Saints.
Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area writes that 49ers RB JaMycal Hasty will likely lead the team in carries on Thursday against the Packers.
Maiocco adds that Jerick McKinnon will be involved as well, likely functioning as the team's third-down back. Hasty has some RB2 appeal this week. The key is hoping San Francisco can keep the game competitive so that they don't abandon the run.
