S - Atlanta Falcons
Week 10 Outlook
Availability
Jessie Bates III (knee) was still limited at practice on Thursday.
Fantasy Impact
Bates was limited for another practice on Thursday as he continues to recover from a knee injury. It remains to be seen if he will have an injury designation heading into the weekend, and if he's ruled out, Atlanta's secondary will look a lot weaker in a matchup against a red-hot Patriots' offense.
Jessie Bates III (ankle) was a limited participant at practice on Wednesday.
Fantasy Impact
Bates suffered an ankle injury during Atlanta's loss to the Dolphins in Week 8. It doesn't seem to be a serious issue, however, as he was still able to log a limited practice session on Wednesday. He is a key part of Atlanta's defense, so if he has to miss any time, their secondary will be significantly weaker as a result.
Jessie Bates III left Sunday's game early against the Dolphins with an ankle injury.
Fantasy Impact
Bates was ruled out for the rest of the game. His status will need to be monitored at practice this upcoming week.
According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, the Atlanta Falcons are signing star safety Jessie Bates III. The deal is worth $64.02 million over four seasons.
Fantasy Impact
Bates has been one of the best safeties in the NFL over the last few seasons, and it was no secret he was on his way out of Cincinnati. The Falcons add a player with multiple 100-tackle seasons and 14 interceptions in five years. He pairs up with CB AJ Terrell to make up a talented and young secondary as the Falcons continue to spend big in free agency.
According to ESPN's Field Yates, the Cincinnati Bengals have officially added S Jessie Bates to their 53-man roster.
Fantasy Impact
Bates started the offseason with a holdout, but he has made his way back to camp. This is a step toward Bates taking the field for the Bengals, something Cincinnati needs to help bolster their defense. Although they drafted multiple defensive backs, Bates is an All-Pro caliber safety with 408 tackles and 10 interceptions in his four-year career.
