QB - TB
Week 14 Outlook
The Buccaneers are releasing QB John Wolford.
Wolford was in competition to be the Bucs QB3 but was not able to showcase enough during training camp to make the 53-man roster. He will now look to add quarterback depth for another organization.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB John Wolford exited Saturday’s preseason game with a neck injury.
The good news is that Wolford had movement in his extremities and was taken to a local hospital for evaluation. Wolford will likely slot in as the QB3 for the Buccaneers, as long as this neck injury is not considered long term.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers signed John Wolford on Tuesday.
Wolford will join a quarterback room with Baker Mayfield and Kyle Trask. Wolford has appeared in seven games with the Rams over three years, completing 58.7% of his passes, for 626 yards, one touchdown, and five interceptions. Wolford will likely not have any fantasy value in 2023.
John Wolford (neck) missed all three practices this week and has officially been ruled out ahead of Sunday's game versus the Chargers.
Wolford's neck injury will prevent him from backing up Baker Mayfield in Week 17. Bryce Perkins will occupy the No. 2 quarterback role for the time being.
