Tight end Johnny Mundt has agreed to a one-year deal with the Philadelphia Eagles. Mundt was released by the Jaguars earlier in the day.
Fantasy Impact
Mundt, a nine-year veteran in the NFL, is widely known more for his blocking than for his pass catching ability. He has never caught more than 19 passes in a single season, doing it twice with the Vikings in 2022 and 2024, and has totaled just 74 catches in 114 career games. In his lone season with Jacksonville last year, Mundt caught nine passes for 111 yards in 16 games. With the addition of Mundt and the return of Grant Calcaterra, the Eagles are making sure to cover their bases in the event Dallas Goedert leaves. If that is the case, Calcaterra would likely start and handle the catching duties while Mundt would play in two tight end sets as an additional blocker.
