Joseph Morgan has been released by the New Orleans Saints.

Morgan has been in the doghouse nearly all year. Combining his injuries with mysterious suspensions and the Saints poor performance this season, Coach Payton clearly felt a message should be sent. Morgan could have some potential suitors in free agency.

Fantasy Impact

He won't be much of an impact going forward, but it is noteworthy that we saw the explosiveness Morgan possesses. He could be an interesting late season pickup in dynasty leagues, but not much else.

Morgan beat Jean-Baptiste deep again in practice, showcasing an ability to be a deep threat more often. Brees continues to look his way without hesitation.

Morgan still doesn't have a huge fantasy upside, as he will most likely be a feast or famine type player. In deeper leagues he looks like a FA acquisition if needed in a pinch.

After missing all last season with an injury, Joe Morgan had a big preseason game Friday night with 3 catches for 108 yards.

The Saints missed Morgan's big play ability last season to stretch the defense. He will be hit or miss each week, but Morgan only needs one huge catch to make your fantasy day as a flex play.
