RB - LAC
Week 8 Outlook
Free agent and former Jets and Dolphins RB Kalen Ballage is visiting with the Los Angeles Chargers, per the league’s transaction wire.
Ballage signed with the Jets earlier this season but was quickly cut ahead of Week 5 now that Le’Veon Bell is likely returning from IR. The Chargers lost Austin Ekeler in Week 4 to a hamstring injury, and he’ll be out 4-6 weeks, so Ballage could provide some insurance at the running back position. It’ll likely be a combination of Joshua Kelley and Justin Jackson out of the backfield for the Chargers while Ekeler is out.
RB Kalen Ballage has been released by the New York Jets.
With Le’Veon Bell slated to come off the IR ahead of Week 5, the Jets decided to waive Ballage, who saw just a limited number of carries in his short tenure in New York.
Kalen Ballage caught 2-of-3 targets for 11 yards in the Jets' 37-28 Week 4 loss to the Broncos.
He didn't receive a carry. Why was Ballage even used in the passing game at all you might ask? We're as curious as you are. He's well off the fantasy radar ahead of a Week 5 tilt with the Cardinals.
Kalen Ballage caught 5-of-5 targets for 44 yards in the Jets' Week 3 loss to the Colts.
He also ran twice for eight yards. Frank Gore led the team in touches among running back with 16. Ballage isn't on the fantsay radar heading into Week 4.
The New York Jets have signed RB Kalen Ballage after designating Le’Veon Bell (hamstring) to the IR.
Adam Gase finally gets his man in Ballage, who he tried to trade for a few weeks back before the Miami Dolphins could officially release him. It’ll be Ballage, the ageless Frank Gore, and Josh Adams getting snaps out of the Jets’ backfield in Week 2 against a stout 49ers front seven. There’s no telling how Gase figures to split the work between the three, but we all know he enjoyed using Ballage in Miami. Stay away from this backfield, as the Jets will likely be trailing in most games this season and will be asking Sam Darnold to throw the ball a ton.
