Kalen Ballage (leg) sent to IR

The Dolphins placed running back Kalen Ballage (leg) on injured reserve.

Fantasy Impact

This ends his season. Ballage averaged a pitiful 1.8 yards per carry through 12 games this season and never looked explosive. Myles Gaskin and Patrick Laird will take over at running back for the Dolphins.

Kalen Ballage exits with leg injury

Kalen Ballage carried the ball three times for a cumulative zero yards and failed to haul in his only target prior to exiting the Dolphins' Week 13 win over the Eagles with a leg injury.

Fantasy Impact

Ballage was forced out with what appeared to be a significant injury. There's no word on the extent of the injury and Ballage's expected absence at this point, but it wouldn't be shocking if he didn't play again this season. The team will likely use a combination of Patrick Laird and Myles Gaskin in place of Ballage. Neither is immediately fantasy relevant, but if one should take on a primary role they could be interesting as an RB3/flex given the upcoming matchups against the Giants and Bengals Week 15 and 16.

Kalen Ballage will remain Dolphins starter

Miami Dolphins running back Kalen Ballage will remain the starter according to head coach Brian Flores.

Fantasy Impact

Ballage continues to disappoint for the Miami Dolphins, but head coach Brian Flores is not yet ready to make the switch to Patrick Laird or Myles Gaskin as the lead back. Laird's longest rush of 13 yards was more than either Ballage or Gaskin gained on the afternoon in total, but Flores will stick with his veteran in a lost season. Ballage played just 38 percent of the snaps, while Laird saw 37 percent, and Gaskin 25. It seems inevitable that either Laird or Gaskin end up taking over the backfield down the stretch, but it may not happen until the fantasy playoffs.

Kalen Ballage continues running nowhere

Kalen Ballage rushed seven times for 13 yards and caught his only target for 13 yards in the Dolphins' Week 12 loss to the Browns.

Fantasy Impact

Ballage can't seem to figure out how to run forward for positive yards, which is a problem for fantasy purposes. He's just a touchdown-or-bust option, which is a problem on the Miami Dolphins. Can you say waiver wire?

Kalen Ballage has historic day in loss to Bills

Kalen Ballage rushed nine times for nine yards and a touchdown in the Dolphins' Week 11 loss to the Bills. He caught five of his six targets for eight yards.

Fantasy Impact

Ballage became just the 41st running back since 1950 to rush 9+ times and score a touchdown but accrue fewer than 10 rushing yards. His efficiency is quickly becoming laughable, and he's nearly impossible to start with any confidence, because he can disappoint even if he scores a touchdown, which is very hard to do.
