Kalen Ballage fumbles in Week 17 loss

Kalen Ballage rushed 12 times for 47 yards and caught his lone target for one yard in the Dolphins' Week 17 loss to the Bills. He fumbled once as well.

Fantasy Impact

Ballage is known as a strong pass-catcher from his time at Arizona State, but ceded most of the targets to Kenyan Drake. Depending on the depth chart in 2019 and projected roles, Ballage could sneak up into the RB3 conversation, but will more likely be a complementary asset with marginal fantasy football appeal.

Kalen Ballage bottled up vs. Jags

Kalen Ballage carried only four times for 10 yards but caught two passes for 39 yards on four targets in the Dolphins' Week 16 loss to the Jaguars.

Fantasy Impact

It was a low volume output for the Fins all around, and Ballage saw fewer carries and targets than Kenyan Drake. Ballage looks like a good player to avoid for those playing in Week 17, as he faces a stout Bills defense.

Kalen Ballage makes the most of opportunity vs. Vikes

Kalen Ballage rushed 12 times for 123 yards and a touchdown in the Dolphins' Week 15 loss to the Vikings after Frank Gore left with an injury. Ballage also caught his only target for a two-yard loss.

Fantasy Impact

Ballage ripped off a long TD run, and looked decent otherwise -- he certainly made a case to get more work moving forward. That said, next week's matchup is not great, and his workload is highly uncertain, so it will be hard to use Ballage in Week 16, especially given the fantasy stakes.

Kalen Ballage INACTIVE Week 1

The Miami Dolphins declared fourth-round rookie running back Kalen Ballage INACTIVE for the club's Week 1 opener against the Titans. Ballage recently passed through the league's concussion protocol, so the rookie is simply a healthy scratch. The Dolphins will trot out Kenyan Drake and Frank Gore, as expected.

Fantasy Impact

Ballage missed part of the preseason with a concussion and has been a work in progress as a pass protector. While Ballage has an intriguing mix of size and skills, he's going to be a frequent victim of the inactive list due to game planning.

Kalen Ballage struggles in debut

Kalen Ballage recorded ten carries for 37 yards, with a long of 14 yards, and added three receptions for 23 yards with a long catch of ten yards, in the Dolphins' preseason opener against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Fantasy Impact

Ballage looked poor as a runner, failing to find running lanes in most cases, though he looked better as a receiver in limited work. Ballage specialized in receiving work at Arizona State, so this is not a big surprise. However, at his size, and given the configuration of the Dolphins' backfield, it's unclear how Ballage fits into the offensive game plan. He's best left on waivers for now.
