WR - DEN
This Week Outlook
Denver Broncos QB/WR Kendall Hinton completed 1-of-9 passes for 13 yards with two interceptions in the Broncos 31-3 loss to the Saints in Week 12. He added two rushes for seven yards.
Hinton was thrust into the starting QB role against one of the best defenses in the NFL, and it went horribly. Hinton threw two picks in nine pass attempts and did minimal on the ground. The experiment was doomed from the start, and while fantasy managers in Yahoo may have tried to exploit his position eligibility at WR, he amassed negative points. He should not be rostered or started in fantasy leagues going forward. If Drew Lock and Brett Rypien aren't cleared by next Sunday, expect the Broncos to sign a fill-in QB from the street before trotting out the former Wake Forest quarterback.
Ian Rapoport of NFL Network confirms that Broncos practice squad WR Kendall Hinton "will play plenty at QB" in Week 12 against the Saints.
Drew Lock, Brett Rypien, and and Blake Bortles are all ineligible to play as they weren't wearing masks around COVID-positive QB Jeff Driskel. Hinton is a former Wake Forest quarterback and it'll be fascinating to see how Denver deploys him against New Orleans. It was rumored that RB Royce Freeman would be involved, and maybe he still will be, but Hinton has more recent experience at the position. Expect a heavy dose of Melvin Gordon and Phillip Lindsay for whatever game plan the Broncos come up with. Obviously, the Saints D/ST is a high-end fantasy start.
Practice squad WR Kendall Hinton reportedly is the mix to be the Broncos’ emergency QB for Sunday’s Week 12 matchup against the Saints. RB Royce Freeman was also mentioned as a QB option for Denver.
Check back shortly for the fantasy impact.
