Running back Kenneth Walker III is signing with the Kansas City Chiefs following his Super Bowl run with the Seattle Seahawks.
Fantasy Impact
Walker won Super Bowl MVP after leading Seattle on the ground. In recent seasons, he has split opportunities with RB Zach Charbonnet, but in Kansas City, he could be the team’s workhorse. Patrick Mahomes’ recovery will be paramount for the Chiefs, but Walker gives them juice on the ground they have lacked and could be a very early round redraft pick this season. Walker’s deal is for three years and up to $45 million with $28.7 million guaranteed.
Tom Pelissero of NFL Network is reporting that it is becoming "increasingly likely" that RB Kenneth Walker III leaves the Seahawks in free agency.
Fantasy Impact
Walker and Seattle have remained linked and it's still a possibility he re-signs with the Seahawks, but it has been pretty clear that other teams are willing to offer him more money. His market has a chance to reach upwards of $15 million per year. The Titans, Commanders and Chiefs are among the interested teams.
Kenneth Walker III’s market reportedly could reach $15 million per year.
Fantasy Impact
The Giants are reportedly likely out on Walker at this price. The Titans, Commanders and Seahawks are currently the teams most linked to him along with the Broncos still being in the mix.
Kenneth Walker’s expected market value is out of the Seahawks reported price range.
Fantasy Impact
Walker has been linked to several teams, including the Giants and Broncos. Pauline notes the Seahawks "will sign a mid-level RB as insurance and could look to address the position in the draft.” Tyler Allgeier has been linked to Seattle.
Kennneth Walker III will not be tagged by the Seattle Seahawks and is set to become a free agent.
Fantasy Impact
Walker is already getting free agency buzz out of New York. The Super Bowl MVP will have to find a new home this offseason, and more suitors will likely appear. As for Seattle, with Zach Charbonnet on the shelf due to an ACL injury, they will look to stabilize their running back rooms via free agency or through the draft. Even in a rough RB class, the draft seems like a likely option due to cost controlled contracts in a team built to win now that needs to allocate money elsewhere.
