OL - HOU
Aaron Wilson of Sports Talk 790 reports that former Texas A&M OL Kenyon Green and the Houston Texans have agreed to terms on a 4-year, $15.9 million deal that is fully guaranteed.
Green, who was the 15th overall pick in last month’s draft, is a versatile lineman who should be able to step in and contribute from day one. Green saw action at every position on the offensive line during his three years at Texas A&M, but he is expected to play left guard for the Texans. In 2022, Green will be tasked with helping keep QB Davis Mills upright and creating rushing lanes for two new Texans' RBs in veteran Marlon Mack and rookie Dameon Pierce.
The Houtson Texans have selected OL Kenyon Green with the No. 15 overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft.
After trading down from pick 13 to pick 15 overall the Texans fortified their offensive line with selection of G Kenyon Green. Drafting an offensive lineman was a possibility for the Texans all the way back with the third pick overall so it should be no surprise that they decided to upgrade the unit at some point after. The tackle position is anchored by Laremy Tunsil and adding a guard makes sense but the question is was this slightly too early. Either way though you can’t deny Green’s abilities as he was a finalist for the Lombardi Award, given out to the nation’s top offensive lineman.
