RB - CHI
Week 3 Outlook
The Chicago Bears are signing FB Khari Blasingame to a two-year extension to stay in Chicago, according to the agency Team IFA.
Blasingame excelled as a blocker in Chicago’s run-heavy scheme in 2022, helping QB Justin Fields and RBs David Montgomery and Khalil Herbert to strong seasons. Blasingame also found success in Tennessee prior to his time in Chicago. The extension shows a commitment to keep the Bears’ identity as a run-heavy team.
The Titans are in agreement on a one-year deal with fullback Khari Blasingame, who was scheduled to be an exclusive rights free agent next month.
The former Vanderbilt product has appeared in 21 games over the last two seasons, including 15 in 2020. He has yet to register a rushing attempt, but he does own eight receptions for 93 yards and four first down conversions. At 6-foot-3 and 233 pounds, Blasingame will stay in Tennessee and continue to serve as a blocker for the almighty Derrick Henry.
Khari Blasingame caught his only target for five yards on Sunday as the Titans lost to the Bengals by a 31-20 score in Week 8 action.
Blasingame caught his first pass since Week 1 and now has two catches on three targets for the season. The 24-year-old running back has yet to pick up a carry on the ground and can be left on the waiver wire.
Khari Blasingame caught his only target for seven yards on Sunday as the Titans beat the Texans by a 35-14 score in Week 17 action.
Blasingame has seen action in six games for the Titans since being signed from the Vikings practice squad. The 23-year-old running back has four catches on five targets for the season and is not fantasy relevant.
Khari Blasingame caught his only target on Sunday for no yardage as the Titans lost to the Texans by a 24-21 score in Week 15 action.
Blasingame now has three catches and still has no rushing attempts on the season for the Titans. With the presence of Derrick Henry and the limited pass volume in the Titans' offense, Blasingame isn't likely to do anything more than further dent Dion Lewis' status on the depth chart.
