Patriots acquired DE Kony Ealy and a third-round pick from the Panthers in exchange for a second-round selection.

This will be a big addition for the Patriots defensive line and will help replace some of the players lost in free agency. Ealy had an up and down year in 2016 for the Panthers and finished with five sacks and 19 tackles.

Carolina Panthers' defensive lineman Kony Ealy has entered the NFL concussion protocol after absorbing a helmet-to-helmet hit during Saturday's practice. The third-year end started nine games last season and finished with five sacks.

Fantasy Impact

Ealy should have an increased role in the Panthers defense after the retirement of Jared Allen. Once he clears protocol Ealy will be another element to the elite Panthers DST.
