TE - IND
This Week Outlook
Kylen Granson has been very involved in training camp. The Colts' offensive scheme makes great use of tight ends and Granson has the opportunity to have a big year.
Jack Doyle and Mo Alie-Cox are expected to handle most of the blocking responsibilities at tight end, especially with left tackle, Eric Fisher still recovering from an Achilles injury. Granson has been used frequently in training camp as a weapon in the passing game and he has the potential to carve out a role in the Colts' aerial attack. Carson Wentz has a long history of targeting his tight ends at a high rate in Philadelphia and if the former Mustang can earn the trust of his new quarterback and coaching staff by avoiding drops, he could be in line for a big rookie season. He was an effective pass-catcher his last two seasons in college at SMU. He racked up 78 catches for 1,257 yards, which was good for a 16.1 yard per reception average. He also scored 14 touchdowns across those two seasons. In deep leagues and dynasty formats, he appears to be worth a bench spot and in redraft circles where some fantasy managers stream the tight end position, he's someone to keep an eye on as the season progresses.
Indianapolis Colts rookie TE Kylen Granson has reportedly been living up to the pre-draft hype expressed by Colts' head coach Frank Reich, per Albert Breer.
In the early days of training camp, rookie tight end Kylen Granson has looked impressive, reportedly justifying Reich's pre-draft love for the tight end out of Southern Methodist University. Granson was drafted in the fourth round of the 2021 NFL Draft and impressed scouts with his fluid acceleration and athleticism when running routes. The Colts may have one of the deepest tight end rooms in the NFL with the addition of Granson, returning veteran Jack Doyle and Mo Alie-Cox, who is coming off of the best season in his three-year career.
The Colts have selected tight end Kylen Granson with the No. 127 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.
Check back shortly for the fantasy impact.
