Lache Seastrunk

The Dallas Cowboys have released RB Lache Seastrunk.

Fantasy Impact

Lache Seastrunk was signed by the Cowboys in June during OTAs, mostly as a short yardage option. However, Seastrunk only played one preseason game for Dallas and was not impressive. The Dallas backfield is finally starting to get healthy, and Seastrunk roster spot just paid that price.

After the Redskins cut RB Lache Seastrunk and he went unclaimed through waivers, the team told Seastrunk's camp that they wouldn't be signing him onto their practice squad. As of Sunday night, Washington had signed eight players to their practice squad and had two opening left.

Fantasy Impact

Seastrunk showed too much inexperience and displayed very little skill as a receiver, but as a rusher he averaged 4.8 yards per carry during the preseason. It's very possible that another team gives him a look just based on his pure rushing abilities, but he'd only be able to contribute to another team as a change-of-pace back at best.

RB Lache Seastrunk, who had an outstanding final preseason game against Tampa Bay, was released by the Redskins on Saturday. In preseason action with the team, Seastrunk showed tremendous speed and acceleration but also struggled catching the ball.

Fantasy Impact

It would not be a surprise if Seastrunk is re-signed to the practice squad, but another team could claim him as well. Keep an eye on this talented back to see where he lands. This is likely not the final NFL opportunity for the young, speedy back.

Redskins RB Lache Seastrunk will miss tonight's game against Baltimore. No official word has been released from the team yet, but CSN's Rich Tandler speculates that Seastrunk will miss the game due to the death of his grandmother.

Fantasy Impact

After camp and the first two preseason games, Seastrunk is a known commodity. He is fast, runs hard and doesn't have much experience catching out of the backfield. If Seastrunk doesn't make the active roster, expect him to be retained on the practice squad.

Redskins rookie RB Lache Seastrunk continues to make a strong push for a spot on the final 53-man roster. Seastrunk carried seven times for 35 yards in Monday's win over Cleveland, showing electrifying acceleration.

Fantasy Impact

The Redskins figure to keep three backs, possibly four if the fourth is a special teams contributor. Alfred Morris and Roy Helu, Jr. are clearly the top two backs which leaves Seastrunk competing against Evan Royster, Chris Thompson and Silas Redd. Seastrunk has consistently showed good speed but questions remain about his hands. Seastrunk should not figure into your plans in redraft leagues but is worth placing on a watch list in deeper dynasty leagues.
