Malik Hooker
S - IND
Malik Hooker had a busy day against the Buccaneers, recording nine solo tackles, one assisted tackle, one QB hit, and one interception, though the Colts still lost, 38-35.
Fantasy Impact
Hooker isn't known for his tackling numbers, recording more than seven tackles in a game just once before today. Asking for more than five fantasy points a game from the talented safety is stretch, so he's probably best left on your waiver wire.
Colts safety Malik Hooker (hip) has been downgraded to out for Sunday’s game against the Titans.
Fantasy Impact
Hooker has been dealing with a hip injury since Week 7 but was able to play through it last week. He was unable to practice all this week, though, and after originally being listed as questionable, the team downgraded him to out Saturday morning. Veteran Mike Mitchell will see more action in his absence. The Colts also ruled out tight end Ryan Hewitt (ankle), cornerback D.J. Killings (ankle) and tight end Erik Swoope (knee), while cornerback Nate Hairston (ankle) remains questionable.
Colts safety Malik Hooker sat out Wednesday’s practice with a hip injury.
Fantasy Impact
Hooker was a surprise addition to the injury and the severity of the injury is uncertain. He should be considered questionable for Sunday’s game against Raiders.
According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Colts safety Malik Hooker has returned to the practice field and is cutting on his surgically-repaired knee.
Fantasy Impact
Even though it's what was expected, this is good news for the Colts, who appeared to have found their long-time starting safety in Hooker, who was playing near a Pro-Bowl level before going down with his knee injury in Week 7. They'll need him on the field as soon as possible, as they did very little to address their cornerback position this offseason, making him more important than ever to the secondary.
Malik Hooker recorded five total tackles and no interceptions in the Colts' win over the 49ers in Week 5.
Fantasy Impact
The first-round rookie ended his streak of three straight games with an interception, but recorded a career high five total tackles.
