Malik Willis completed 20-of-36 pass attempts for 210 yards and one interception while also rushing nine times for a team-leading 56 yards in the Dolphins' 24-10 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 3.

Fantasy Impact

Willis has struggled to make an impact behind center early on, passing for less than 230 yards in each of the first three contests. The quarterback's only value remains from a rushing standpoint in a disappointing Dolphins offense for head coach Jeff Hafley, with a Week 4 matchup against a tough Minnesota Vikings defense up next.

Willis did very little against the 49ers' defense until connecting with WR Ryan Miller on a 77-yard touchdown in the waning stages of Sunday's blowout loss. Unlike in Week 1, Willis did not make up for a lack of passing totals with his running ability. Through two weeks, the Dolphins' offense has largely met the low expectations most had for it. Willis has led the unit to just 13 points in each of the first two games. He'll be toward the bottom of the QB barrel for a Week 3 matchup with the Chiefs.

Willis struggled to stay upright in the season opener, falling victim to five sacks in the Week 1 loss. The quarterback remains a sneaky option behind center due to his ability to use his feet for positive plays, with a Week 2 matchup against the San Francisco 49ers up next.

Malik Willis has agreed to a three year, $67 million deal with the Miami Dolphins that includes $45 million guaranteed.

Fantasy Impact

Miami won the Malik Willis sweepstakes. Now it’s up to him and the coaching staff to see if he can truly become the QB they want and believe he can be. Jaylen Waddle and De’Von Achane will still be the top targets in the offense, but likely at a lower volume of passes than they would otherwise see since Willis is not known for his volume of passes per game.

Malik Willis is expected to be an intriguing name in free agency this offseason with the Cleveland Browns and Miami Dolphins already showing interest.

Willis has never held a starting role in the NFL and has appeared in 22 career games, with six starts, in his four seasons. Willis has played for both the Titans and Packers and has thrown for 1,322 yards and six touchdowns while completing 67.7% of his passes. He has also run for an additional 405 yards and four scores. If Willis lands a starting role, he would be an interesting target for 2026 fantasy drafts due to his dual threat ability.
