Marcus Jones
CB - New England Patriots
Week 14 Outlook
Availability
The New England Patriots and cornerback Marcus Jones have agreed to terms on a three-year extension.
Fantasy Impact
Jones was a third-round draft pick in the 2022 NFL Draft and has developed into a quality return specialist and defender. He is playing a career-high 76% of defensive snaps while leading the league in yards per punt return (10 for 216 and a touchdown). He was an All-Pro as a returner in his rookie season as well.
Patriots CB Marcus Jones is officially active for Week 6.
Fantasy Impact
Jones was listed as questionable with a groin injury. He will have a challenge of stopping a high powered Texans' offense in Week 6.
Marcus Jones has been listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Texans.
Fantasy Impact
Jones was limited at practice all week. He seems to be close to a game-time call for Sunday.
Marcus Jones (shoulder) has been placed on New England's injured reserve.
Fantasy Impact
Jones tore his labrum during Sunday's loss to the Dolphins and will be placed on the team's injured reserve because of it. He will have to be out for the next four games at the very least, and he may very well miss more time beyond that. This is another tough blow for New England's secondary, but they still should continue to be one of the best defenses in the NFL moving forward.
Marcus Jones continued to show off his versatility against the Bengals in Week 16. The rookie cornerback stepped up big on Saturday, registering 14 tackles, recovering a fumble, and returning an interception for a touchdown. He also got involved on offense, catching a pass from Mac Jones for a 15-yard gain.
Fantasy Impact
Jones provides immense value for the Patriots as a motivated special teamer, talented cornerback on defense, and sneaky chess piece on offense. He has logged an offensive reception in three of his last four games, and on Saturday, he became the second player in NFL history to register a receiving touchdown, interception return touchdown, and punt return touchdown in one season. (The other: Deion Sanders.) Needless to say, while Jones might not be on the fantasy radar, he has quickly blossomed into a fan-favorite in New England.
