Mario Addison (back) held in check with back injury Week Seven

Before leaving the contest for good in the fourth quarter, Carolina defensive end Mario Addison (back) was reportedly in and out of the contest versus Philadephia after suffering an apparent back injury. He did manage to record two solo tackles and a sack and was credited for two tackles for a loss as well.

Fantasy Impact

In a contest that seen fellow defensive lineman Kawann Short and Kyle Love recording four solo tackles apiece, it was a disappointing development, to say the least for Addison IDP owners. The back injury will be something to monitor this coming week as Carolina takes on Baltimore in Week Eight at home.

Mario Addison records sack in Week Six loss

Carolina defensive end Mario Addison continues to have a productive season with a solid Week Six performance of four solo tackles, one tackle for a loss, and the sack on Washington quarterback Alex Smith.

Fantasy Impact

IDP owners might find Addison a matchup-dependent play each week, but overall he has been a serviceable play as a tier two defensive lineman.

Mario Addison records Carolina's only sack Week 3

De Mario Addison had Carolina's only sack Sunday vs. New Orleans. He added six combined tackles in the losing effort.

Fantasy Impact

De Mario Addison has started to solidify himself as a weekly play for fantasy owners at this point. Owners should consider this starting the week after this weekend when Carolina takes on the New England Patriots. He would be a risky play otherwise in Week 4.

Mario Addison establishing his role with Carolina

DE Mario Addison recorded one sack on top of four tackles in the win over Buffalo Sunday.

Fantasy Impact

The realisation that fantasy owners should trust Addison as a weekly IDP play is full steam ahead.

Mario Addison the next great pass-rusher in Carolina

Carolina's defensive line coach Eric Washington talked up Mario Addison and his potential to be the next best thing for the Panthers off the edge.

Fantasy Impact

DE Addison has high "upside" if he does continue to grow as a pass-rusher for the Panthers. Charles Johnson and recently resigned Julius Peppers aren't getting any younger while soon to be 30 Addison may be a late bloomer with a few good years left. He has 7 years in the league, but with limited snaps as a reserve for most of his career. He led the Panthers in 2016 with 9.5 sacks and is sitting in a great position to do so again in 2017.
