MarQueis Gray

Miami Dolphins blocking tight end MarQueis Gray tore his ACL prior to the team's Week 1 opener and has been placed on season-ending injured reserve. Gray is an in-line blocker who played all 16 games for the club last year but caught just one pass.

Fantasy Impact

The Dolphins signed Gavin Escobar to replace Gray. The only fantasy significance here is that second-round rookie Mike Gesicki should pretty much be a full-time player and be a weekly streaming option.

Tight end MarQueis Gray took on rushing duties for a second consecutive week rushing twice for seven yards as the Dolphins lost to the Bills 24-16.

Gray has one reception for 10 yards this season. His four attempts for the season have come in the last two weeks since the Dolphins have been without Damian Williams.

In Monday night's game against the Patriots, MarQueis Gray caught the only pass thrown his way. Gray, however, lined up as fullback, ran his route to the flats where made a 10-yard gain. He played for 21 per cent of the snaps.

Gray has been used both as a receiver and blocker off the line, as well as lining up in the backfield at times this season. He has two rushing attempts for five yards.

When Jay Cutler went out with a concussion in Sunday's game against Tampa Bay, MarQueis Gray suddenly became the next guy up if Miami had then lost Matt Moore. “I didn’t even know at first and then I was like, ‘Oh snap, Matt’s in there. Wasn’t nobody gonna tell me I’m the next one up?’” Gray said today. “But if it would’ve come to that, I would’ve been ready. But luckily Matt stayed in there and did a great job.” Gray played quarterback for the University of Minnesota.

MarQueis Gray rarely receives any targets as the team's third tight end, and has to catch a pass this season. David Fales, the third quarterback on the roster is usually inactive on game day.

MarQueis Gray was targeted once at the end of the third quarter on Sunday. Tampa Bay defeated Miami 30-20.
