Week 17 Outlook
Matt Gay nailed all three of his field goal attempts, including a 51-yarder en route to scoring all of the Rams points in Week 16.
Gay has been a solid producer for Rams down the stretch this season and that should continue ahead of a divisional game against the Cardinals in Week 17.
Matt Gay connected on both of his field goal attempts and converted both of his extra point attempts during the Rams' 20-23 loss to the Jets in Week 15.
Gay has been solid for the Rams while taking over for the injured Kai Forbath a few weeks ago. Despite another impressive performance, he's not seeing enough consistent volume to enter must-start territory. He should best be viewed as a streamer heading into a Week 16 matchup against the Seahawks.
Matt Gay made good on his lone field goal attempt from 35-yards out and connected on all three of his extra point attempts during the Rams' 24-3 victory over the Patriots' on Thursday Night Football.
Gay was questionable heading into Thursday's with a shoulder issue, but managed to kick a perfect game. The 26-year-old kicker has been solid since signing with the Rams' a few weeks back, though he isn't seeing enough opportunities to warrant must-start status in fantasy. He will be on the streaming radar in Week 15, however, as he faces a Jets' team giving up the third-most fantasy points to kickers on the season.
Rams kicker Matt Gay is active for the team's matchup against the New England Patriots on Thursday Night Football. Fellow kicker Austin MacGinnis was elevated from the practice squad but is inactive.
Gay was listed as questionably coming into Thursday, and the promotion of MacGinnis indicates there was at least some concern that he could miss the game. In three games for the Rams this season, Gay is 5-for-7 on field goal attempts while making all 10 of his extra point tries.
Rams’ K Matt Gay (shoulder) is questionable for Week 14’s contest against the Patriots. The Rams have elevated K Austin MacGinnis from the practice squad, which is a sign that Gay is unlikely to play on Thursday.
Gay was a limited participant in Wednesday’s practice and is questionable for Thursday’s game against New England. The Rams called up Austin MacGinnis on Thursday to most likely handle kicking duties. Fantasy managers should look for another kicker to stream, but can check back when the Rams announce inactives an hour before kickoff.
