Judon signed with the Dolphins on Tuesday. He hit the practice field for the first time with this new team Wednesday. The four-time Pro Bowler spent last season with the Falcons, recording 41 tackles with 5.5 sacks and one interception. The Dolphins are hoping the nine-year veteran can make an impact on the defensive side of the ball for them this season.

The Dolphins are expected to sign veteran edge Matthew Judon to a one-year deal.

Judon appeared in 17 games with the Falcons last season. He'll add veteran experience to the Dolphins defensive line.

There was some concern earlier in the week that Judon would miss Sunday's game because of a hamstring injury, but he has been removed from the injury report and will play in Week 4. That's a big boost for Atlanta's defense in a tough divisional matchup against the Saints.

The Atlanta Falcons are acquiring edge rusher Matthew Judon from the New England Patriots in exchange for a 2025 third-round pick.

Given the fact Judon was already one foot out the door, the return package for New England is pretty solid. With Christian Barmore (blood clots) potentially missing the 2024 season, the Patriots need help on the DL, but their edge rotation is fairly deep at the moment. Judon had been in and out of practice all offseason and finds a new home that will absorb his contract and likely offer him a reworked deal or an extension.

Patriots coach Jerod Mayo said he had a “healthy” conversation with Matthew Judon and he fully expects him to be participating at practice on Thursday.

Judon has been at practice, but hasn't been participating as he seeks a contract extension. It appears the two sides could be close to an agreement based on the comments made by Mayo.
