Week 6 Outlook
Cardinals tight end Maxx Williams suffered a major knee injury on Sunday and is expected to miss the remainder of the 2021 season.
Williams took a shot to his right knee and was quickly ruled out of Sunday's game against the 49ers. The 27-year-old had looked very good this season, hauling in all 15 of his targets for 179 yards and one touchdown from Weeks 2 to 4. Demetrius Harris is likely the next man up for Arizona, though Darrell Daniels could also see an increased workload once he returns from the Reserve/COVID-19 list. It's also quite possible that the Cardinals look to replace Williams in the free agent or trade markets.
Cardinals TE Maxx Williams caught all five targets for 66 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's Week 4 win over the Rams.
Williams is truly becoming a weapon in this offense. And, at a position that struggles from a fantasy aspect, he could truly become a weekly plug-and-play as a low-end TE1.
Cardinals TE Maxx Williams catches all three targets for 19 yards in Week 3 win over Jaguars.
Williams is truly becoming a weapon in this offense. After a week where he exploded for 94 yards, the tight end had the fourth most receptions on the team Sunday. If this trajectory continues Williams could become streamable week-to-week.
Cardinals TE Maxx Williams caught all seven targets for 94 yards in Sunday's win over the Vikings.
Williams could do no wrong against the Vikings. He now becomes a very streamable TE in Week 3 against the Jaguars.
The Arizona Cardinals are placing tight end Maxx Williams on injured reserve with an ankle injury. Williams will be ruled out for the next three games.
With Williams out, the Cardinals will likely turn to Dan Arnold as their top pass catching option. If Arnold can make an impact, he could keep that role at tight end throughout the season.
