Bercovici is a practice squad candidate, and the Chargers hope he lands there. The former Arizona State quarterback showed some promise this preseason, but also showed he has a long way to go to be even a number two on an NFL team.

It was a rough night for Bercovici, who apparently was being given a chance to distance himself further from Zach Mettenberger, who did not play. Instead, he may have opened the door a bit for Mettenberger to have a role in 2016. Both quarterbacks will likely see plenty of playing time in the Chargers' final preseason tune up.

He also had three rushes, losing two yards. Bercovici looks great, much better than Zach Mettenberger. Kellen Clemens is locked in as Philip Rivers' clipboard holder, but Bercovici may be sneaking his way up to third on the depth chart.
