Week 3 Outlook
Texans RB Mike Boone caught three of his four targets for 18 yards in a loss to the Ravens in Week 1.
Boone is listed as the third running back on the depth chart for the Texans, but did not see a rushing attempt in the loss to Baltimore. Fantasy managers can leave Boone off their radar for now. Boone and the Texans will take on the Colts in Week 2.
According to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network, veteran RB Mike Boone is being released by the Houston Texans on Wednesday.
Boone, who is 28, signed with the Texans in March after spending the last two seasons in Denver. With the Broncos, he had 255 yards from scrimmage in two years. Boone's per-rush efficiency numbers for his career are very good, albeit on small sample sizes, but it's unlikely he'll find a significant role anywhere at his age.
Mike Boone tallied 25 rushing yards on four carries and hauled in his lone target four seven yards in a win over the Patriots Thursday.
Boone joined the Texans as a free agent this offseason. The 27-year-old tallied 102 rushing yards and 96 receiving yards in nine games last season. Fantasy managers should feel comfortable leaving Boone on the waiver wire.
The Texans are reportedly in agreement on a contract with Mike Boone.
Boone suited up in nine games last season for Denver before landing on injured reserve. The 27-year-old posted 102 rushing yards and 96 receiving yards in nine games last season. Boone provides the Texans with a solid backup option behind Dameon Pierce.
Mike Boone (ankle) is listed as questionable to return after being carted off the field in the Broncos’ Week 14 matchup against Kansas City.
Boone was carted off the field in the first half with an ankle injury. If Boone does not return, his day will end with two rushing yards and 27 receiving yards on two receptions.
