This Week Outlook
Availability
The Minnesota Vikings D/ST allowed only 121 yards of total offense and sacked Green Bay quarterback Clayton Tune four times en route to a 16-3 win over the Packers on Sunday.
Fantasy Impact
Green Bay rested most of its starters on Sunday as it entered the game locked into the #7 seed in the NFC. However, take nothing away from the Vikings, who allowed -7 net passing yards on the afternoon. Minnesota finished with four sacks - two by Dallas Turner - and also had eight tackles for a loss.
The Vikings D/ST registered five sacks while also forcing six turnovers (two interceptions, four fumble recoveries) in a 23-10 win over the Lions in Week 17.
Fantasy Impact
The unit continues to terrorize opposing quarterbacks, recording two or more sacks in each of his last five games. The defense could be in line for another impactful performance against a Green Bay Packers team with little to play for in Week 18.
The Minnesota Vikings defense held the Giants to just 141 total yards and sacked Jaxson Dart five times during their 16-13 win on Sunday.
Fantasy Impact
The Vikings defense owned the line of scrimmage on Sunday as Dart completed just seven passes for 13 net yards on the afternoon. Byron Murphy also had an interception as the Vikings held the Giants without an offensive touchdown. Minnesota will have a much stiffer test on Christmas Day as it hosts Detroit, which is still fighting for the last Wild Card spot in the NFC.
The Vikings defense allowed 26 points on 423 yards of total offense, recording two sacks in Sunday's win over the Cowboys.
Fantasy Impact
The Vikings defense did not have its best showing in Week 15. What the unit did do was keep the Cowboys' potent offense out of the end zone. After surrendering one touchdown in the first quarter and another early in the second, the Vikings limited the Cowboys to all field goals. That allowed the Minneota offense to generate enough points to pull the road upset. The Vikings defense currently ranks inside the top-10, and the unit has an attractive matchup against the Giants in Week 10.
The Vikings' D/ST logged four sacks and one fumble recovery while allowing 20 points in Sunday's loss to the Seattle Seahawks.
Fantasy Impact
Minnesota's defense actually had a solid stat line on Sunday, despite the team suffering an embarrassing shutout loss at the hands of the Seahawks. They allowed 20 points on the day, which is really good considering that they had to deal with their own offense turning the ball over five times on the day. They also logged four sacks and one turnover, which left them with a decent enough fantasy total.
