Freeling missed the team's first practice of the week on Wednesday due to a concussion, but he seems to be progressing well with it and was able to practice in a limited fashion on Thursday. He may very well play in Week 4, which would be great news for Carolina's offense ahead of a matchup against the Lions.

It looks like Carolina may be without their starting right tackle this week. Freeling is currently going through the NFL's concussion protocols, and if he's out, they will feel his absence even more keenly with Damien Lewis (elbow) also likely to be sidelined in a matchup against Aidan Hutchinson and Co. on the other side of the ball.

Rookie Monroe Freeling is expected to open the season at right tackle on the Panthers offensive line.

Fantasy Impact

Freeling was a first-round pick of Carolina this year. Veteran Rasheed Walker will slide in at left tackle with Taylor Moton expected to miss the start of the season due to blood clots.

The Carolina Panthers have selected OT Monroe Freeling with the No. 19 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.

Fantasy Impact

Freeling will look to help what was already a solid offensive line in Carolina last season to help protect Bryce Young. He stepped into a starting role at Georgia last season and should make an immediate impact on the offensive line for Carolina.

Freeling has continued to see his draft stock rise as all four teams he met with have top-15 picks next Thursday. He should be an early selection next week as team's look to boost their offensive line.
