RB - MIA
Week 13 Outlook
The Miami Dolphins did not activate RB Myles Gaskin (MCL) off IR Saturday by 4:00 PM EST, so he will be out on Sunday vs. the Jets.
With Gaskin and Salvon Ahmed (shoulder) out, that leaves the Dolphins with Patrick Laird, Matt Breida, and DeAndre Washington in what is likely some sort of timeshare. Laird saw the highest % of snaps in Week 11 (27%) and could lead the charge on Sunday.
Miami Dolphins running back Myles Gaskin will be designated to return from injured reserve today, opening up the 21-day window for the Dolphins to activate him.
The Dolphins designating Gaskin to return does not ensure that he will be ready for Week 12, but it is certainly a step in the right direction. Salvon Ahmed has likely earned some sort of role when Gaskin returns, but Gaskin will undoubtedly still function as the lead back. He will be wearing a red non-contact jersey for Wednesday's practice, and will likely need to shed it before Friday in order to be cleared for Week 12.
Dolphins head coach Brian Flores reported that RB Myles Gaskin (MCL sprain) is headed to the IR and will miss at least three games.
The Dolphins just traded for DeAndre Washington, so he’s sure to be in the mix of running backs, in addition to Matt Breida, Jordan Howard, and Patrick Laird. There’s no telling who will be the lead guy, so it’s best to stay clear of the Dolphins’ RB situation until we have a clearer picture.
Dolphins RB Myles Gaskin (MCL sprain) is expected to miss three weeks.
The Dolphins acquired DeAndre Washington from the Chiefs at the trade deadline, which makes a ton of sense now that Gaskin is expected to miss a chunk of time. The Dolphins will role with a combination of Matt Breida and Washington until Gaskin is able to return.
Myles Gaskin ran 18 times for 47 yards and a touchdown in the Dolphins' 28-17 Week 8 win over the Rams, adding three catches for 16 yards in the victory.
Gaskin nearly received as many touches (21) as rookie QB Tua Tagovailoa had pass attempts (22). Gaskin has now totaled 20 or more touches in 4-of-5 games. A Week 9 date with the Cardinals keeps him in the low-end RB2 conversation.
