New England Patriots annihilate New York Giants offense

The New England Patriots surrendered 14 points (eight if your league factors out turnovers for a score, in this case a fumble return) and 213 yards of offense in their Week 6 win over the Giants. The defense recovered one fumble and intercepted three passes, but just one sack. However, the D/ST scored on both a blocked punt and a fumble return, making for a huge day.

Fantasy Impact

The Patriots have not yet faced and very strong teams, but their defense has been nothing short of elite, and the schedule should not discredit their performance. In fantasy teams, they have outscored all wide receivers in most formats, which is mind blowing. It should not take any prodding for owners to use them with extreme confidence in Week 7 against the Jets.

New England Patriots shut down Redskins, pick up six sacks

The New England Patriots allowed seven points and 220 yards of offense in their Week 5 win over the Washington Redskins. The defense recorded six sacks, one fumble, and one interception.

Fantasy Impact

It should come as no surprise that the top defense in the league to this point was able to disrupt the Colt McCoy offense this week. The Patriots have not faced the top offense in the league, but they have been dominant on the defensive side of the ball thus far. Keep rolling with them next week against the rookie Daniel Jones and the New York Giants on a short week.

New England Patriots have field day on defense and special teams

The New England Patriots allowed 10 points and 375 yards of offense in their Week 4 win over the Buffalo Bills. The defense recorded five sacks and four interceptions, as well as a blocked punt that was returned for a touchdown.

Fantasy Impact

It was always a high upside game against the turnover prone Josh Allen and the Bills offense in general. That said, the Patriots defense has been undeniably excellent so far this season, and not just due to their opponents -- they are an elite unit if not the best in the NFL. Expect another strong outing next week against the struggling Redskins.

New England Patriots smother depleted Jets offense

The New England Patriots allowed 8 points (6 more coming on an interception returned for a TD) and 106 yards of offense in their Week 3 win over the Jets. The defense recorded five sacks, one fumble recovery, and one interception.

Fantasy Impact

A strong outing as expected for the high-powered defense against a third-string quarterback with few weapons. The Patriots are becoming a high-end DST unit quickly. Next week, they face the mistake-prone Bills and could have a solid day even if they allow ample yards and points to Josh Allen and company.

New England Patriots defense dominates Dolphins

The New England Patriots shut out the Miami Dolphins and allowed just 184 yards of total offense in their Week 2 blowout win. The defense racked up seven sacks and intercepted four passes. Two of the interceptions by the Patriots were returned for easy touchdowns.

Fantasy Impact

The Patriots smothered the Dolphins in every sense of the word and took two turnovers to the house late in the game as the Dolphins were down big. This was a monster outing in the best possible matchup, and next week against the Jets sans Sam Darnold looks pretty good, too. Fire the Patriots back up again in Week 3.
