Week 15 Outlook

Matchup (?)
Week Rank (ECR) DST #2
Projection 9.4 pts

New England Patriots solid defensively against Chiefs

The New England Patriots allowed 23 points and 346 yards of offense in their Week 14 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. The defense recorded one sack, one fumble, and one interception.

Fantasy Impact

The defense could have had a bigger day if a fumble recovery and return was not blown dead. It wasn't a clear score, but there was a chance it would have gone for six. The Patriots can deliver even in tough matchups, even if the stat line didn't boom for this week. Next week against the Bengals is a dream scenario for fantasy playoffs. Expect a strong outing for the Pats on defense.

New England Patriots fail to slow down Texans offense

The New England Patriots allowed 28 points and 276 yards of offense in their Week 13 loss to the Houston Texans. The defense failed to force a turnover, but recorded three sacks.

Fantasy Impact

Certainly a down game for a high-end defensive unit, and they should bounce back with no problem. However, that bounce back game is more likely to come in Week 15, as the Patriots face off with the Chiefs next week. It's worth scoping our the other options for the first week of most leagues' playoffs, but definitely hold the Patriots D/ST for Week 15 against the Bengals and Week 16 against the Bills.

New England Patriots halt Dallas Cowboys in stormy game

The New England Patriots allowed nine points and 321 yards of offense in their Week 12 win over the Dallas Cowboys. The defense failed to record a sack but intercepted one pass and blocked a punt.

Fantasy Impact

The Patriots defense was not able to create as much havoc as usual, but they still held a very strong Cowboys offense in check. Next week will be a real test as they play the Houston Texans on the road, an offense that can explode in any given week.

New England Patriots slow down Wentz and Eagles effectively

The New England Patriots allowed 10 points and 255 yards of offense in their Week 11 win over the Philadelphia Eagles. The defense recorded five sacks and forced two fumbles (recovering one).

Fantasy Impact

The Patriots have been an elite defense all year, with the lone down week against the elite Ravens offense. Next week, the Patriots face off with the Cowboys, which is a tough matchup, but the Patriots have enough fire power to be a strong option anyway. Scope out the waiver wire though, just in case.

New England Patriots finally meet their maker

The New England Patriots surrendered 31 points and allowed 372 yards of offense in their Week 9 loss to the Baltimore Ravens. The defense recorded just one sack, but the team came up with two fumble recoveries.

Fantasy Impact

No doubt that this was a down game for the Patriots on defense, but it's certainly one of the toughest offenses in the NFL to face. The good news is that the Patriots were still able to generate pressure, but Lamar Jackson was able to escape for the most part. The Patriots should still be viewed as a top-end unit and after the Week 10 bye, started with confidence against the Eagles.
