Peyton Hillis
RB -
Week 5 Outlook
Availability
Peyton Hillis was placed on IR by the Giants today (concussion).
Fantasy Impact
Hillis' season, and perhaps his tenure with the Giants, is over. Hillis holds no fantasy value. If anything, this development could increase Andre Williams' backup RB snap count on third downs/passing plays.
Peyton Hillis (concussion) will not play Sunday against San Francisco.
Fantasy Impact
Hillis holds no fantasy value and should not be rostered. Rashad Jennings remains probable and will start at RB for the Giants in Week 11, with Andre Williams serving as backup. Jennings may be on a snap count coming off the knee injury, so he projects as a low end RB2 in Week 11.
Peyton Hillis suffered a concussion in the first quarter of the Week 10 game against Seattle. He has been ruled out for the rest of the game.
Fantasy Impact
Hillis holds no fantasy value. Expect increased work for Michael Cox who will serve as Andre Williams' sole backup for the rest of the game.
Despite having played only 6 snaps to Andre Williams' 30 snaps after Rashad Jennings went down in the 3rd quarter of the Week 5 game against Atlanta, Peyton Hillis will likely be the Giants third down back this weekend against Philadelphia. At this point, when compared to Andre Williams, Hillis is a much better pass blocker and is more sure handed in the passing game.
Fantasy Impact
Williams will still see the lion's share of snaps and will be the Giants lead back in Weeks 6 and 7, holding high WR2 value. Although Hillis will likely be called on for third down/passing plays, he presently holds no fantasy relevance and should remain on waiver wires.
Peyton Hillis scored the Giants lone touchdown in the 16-13 preseason finale win against the Patriots. He carried the ball a team high 11 times for 40 yards.
Fantasy Impact
Hillis was injured throughout the preseason and his role was not established in prior games. He punched in the touchdown from one yard out, something that the bruising back is known for. He may steal goal line touches in the regular season, but right now he is not worth owning until his role is clearer.
