Despite signing Mitch Trubisky to a two-year deal this offseason, the Steelers don't seem content. The team has visits with Malik Willis, Matt Corrall, Carson Strong, and Desmond Ridder which are all scheduled over the next 10-days. The team also already had a visit with the presumed top-QB prospect, Kenny Pickett, early this offseason. The Steelers currently hold the 20th overall pick in the upcoming 2022 NFL draft.

Rumors continue to come out of Pittsburgh this week that the Steelers have been eyeing QBs at this week's NFL combine. Colbert expressed some belief in a group that includes Kenny Pickett, Malik Willis, Matt Corral, Sam Howell, and Desmond Ridder. The GM was quoted as saying “Quarterback is obviously a huge position in any given season, especially this season with our Hall of Fame quarterback calling it a career. Is it different this year? Yes. Is it going to change how we approach things? No." With Mason Rudolph and Dwayne Haskins as the only active QBs on the roster, the Steelers should certainly be interested in drafting a predecessor to their HOF QB.

Pittsburgh Steelers promote Teryl Austin to defensive coordinator

Steelers defensive backs coach Teryl Austin has been promoted to the role of defensive coordinator.

Austin drew interest from the Giants for their defensive coordinator vacancy, but he'll ultimately stay in Pittsburgh. The Steelers needed to fill the job after Keith Butler retired following seven seasons with the team. Pittsburgh's defense ranked 17th in fantasy points in 2021, as well as 17th in interceptions and ninth in fumble recoveries. Although the unit took a step back this past season, they still have optimism going forward with playmaker T.J. Watt leading the way.
