Rashan Gary on snap count returning from ACL injury

According to Ryan Wood of USA Today, edge rusher Rashan Gary was on a snap count in Week 1 as the Green Bay Packers take the long road in his ACL recovery.

Fantasy Impact

The Packers showed dominance defensively against the Chicago Bears, getting pressure constantly even if Gary was limited. Despite his snap count, he still mustered seven pressures of his own. The Packers have long-term goals, and Gary should see more work as the season goes, but the Packers defensive line could prove to be one of the better units in the NFL.

The Packers activated Rashan Gary from the PUP list Monday.

Fantasy Impact

Head coach Matt LaFleur stated that Gary will not take any team reps, but will do individual drills. Gary landed on the PUP list at the start of training camp as he continued to recover from his torn ACL he suffered last November. This is a massive return for the Packers’ DST which currently ranks 18th in ECR, according to FantasyPros.

Rashan Gary placed on PUP list by Packers

According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, edge rusher Rashan Gary was placed on the physically unable to perform list to start training camp.

Fantasy Impact

Gary tore his ACL in November and has been recovering on the side during offseason workouts. There’s some optimism he could be ready at the start of the season, but there’s no guarantee he won’t miss time. Gary was on pace for a career-high number of sacks and tackles, totaling six sacks and 32 tackles in nine games before getting injured. His presence will bring back lots of value for Green Bay’s defense.
