Chiefs head coach Andy Reid said he expects Rashee Rice to be back for training camp.
Fantasy Impact
Rice underwent a clean-up procedure on his knee and was ordered last week to spend 30 days in jail. “As far as Rashee goes, we’re aware of the situation, the league’s aware of it, we’ve talked to the league, we get it,” Reid said. “As far as any further ado to that, there’s been no talk about anything further. We’re moving forward, just normal as we go here. When he gets back, we’ve got to get him caught up and doing what he needs to do. And then, make sure he gets it. It’s not an easy thing he’s going through. Life lessons are important, but we’re all given chances to learn, and so he’s in that position now.”
Adam Schefter reports the Chiefs “have no plans” to give Rashee Rice an extension before the start of this season.

Rice has posted elite production when on the field, but he has continued to have issues off the field. He is entering the final year of his rookie contract and was recently sentenced to 30 days in jail for violating his probation. He also recently underwent a clean-up surgery. Rice will remain a WR1 for fantasy managers this upcoming season when he is on the field.
Rashee Rice underwent a clean-up surgery on his right knee to remove loose debris that was causing inflammation and now is expected to sideline him two months.

Rice underwent the surgery one week before being ordered to serve 30 days in jail. He should be in line to be healthy by the end of July or early August barring any setbacks. This report comes on the same day that Rice was ordered to serve 30 days in jail after violating his probation.
Rashee Rice reportedly violated his probation by testing positive for marijuana.
Fantasy Impact
The court order states that the defendant (Rice) was placed in custody on Tuesday and has been ordered to serve 30 days in jail. It means he will miss OTAs and mandatory mini-camp. This will remain a situation to monitor as we get closer to training camp.
The NFL concluded that Rashee Rice did not violate the personal conduct policy and there will be no discipline at this time.
Fantasy Impact
Schefter added that Rice “has not engaged in conduct that violates the personal conduct policy” and the investigation into accusations from his former girlfriend is now closed. It appears he will be in line to play all of next season. The question for Rice's fantasy value now comes down to if Patrick Mahomes (knee) will be ready for the start of the season.
