This Week Outlook
The 49ers activated Robbie Gould off injured reserve on Saturday.
This was a foregone conclusion after the 49ers released Joey Slye earlier in the week. Gould had hit 3 of 4 field-goal attempts and all 11 of his extra-point attempts this season, and should go back to being a borderline startable option generally and in Week 9 against the Cardinals.
49ers kicker Robbie Gould (groin) is expected to miss "some time."
It sounds as if Gould could miss 3-5 weeks. Fantasy managers should move on to another option for the time being.
Adam Schefter of ESPN reports kicker Robbie Gould and the 49ers have agreed on a two-year, $7.25 million extension.
The deal ties Gould to San Francisco through the 2022 campaign and is fully guaranteed. He'll likely remain fantasy relevant entering next year.
Robbie Gould missed both of his field goal attempts and chipped in 2-of-3 extra point attempts during the 49ers 20-12 win over the Cardinals in Week 16.
This was arguably Gould's worst game of the season as both of his misses came in the second half and were under 45-yard attempts. Gould remains one of the best real-life kickers in the game but has had a disappointing fantasy season with all of the injuries and lack of upside in this 49ers offense. He'll be among one of the top streaming options heading into the 2021 season and he will have a chance to forgive Saturday's horrific showing with a matchup against the Seahawks on deck for Week 17.
Robbie Gould nailed both of his field goal attempts and connected on all three of his extra point attempts during the 49ers' 33-41 loss to the Cowboys in Week 15.
Gould was as good as can be in this one as he's made 19-of-21 field goals on the year. Volume has been his only problem as he hasn't seen many opportunities to score with the 49ers' bottom tier offense this season.
