This Week Outlook
The Cardinals have waived K Rodrigo Blankenship with an injury settlement.
Matt Prater returned in Week 8 after Blankenship started for the Cardinals in Week 7. Prater will remain the starting kicker for the Cardinals.
Rodrigo Blankenship has been signed to the Cardinals' 53-man roster.
Blankenship handled the kicking duties in Week 7 for the Cardinals, making both of his field-goal attempts and 2 of 3 PATs. With veteran Matt Prater (hip) still out of action, it appears Blankenship will once again be called upon against the Vikings in Week 8.
Rodrigo Blankenship was two-for-two in field goal attempts Thursday night but missed one of his three extra points.
With Matt Prater out for a third straight game, the Cardinals turned to Blankenship in Week 7, and he delivered for the most part. If Prater is out again in Week 8 and Blankenship remains with the team, he'll be a viable streamer against the Vikings.
Rodrigo Blankenship was elevated from the practice squad and will kick for the Cardinals’ Thursday night.
Blankenship has not kicked this season since Week 1 with the Colts. The 25-year-old was waived after that and just recently signed to the Cardinals’ practice squad. He should remain off fantasy rosters.
Arizona signed former Colts' kicker Rodrigo Blankenship to their practice squad on Tuesday.
The Cardinals released fill-in kicker Matt Ammendola following his subpar performance on Sunday and Blankenship has taken his place. With Matt Prater looking iffy for Thursday night, there is a good chance Blankenship is elevated to kick for Arizona. A mediocre-at-best leg in his three year career, Blankenship does not possess any real fantasy value for kicker needy teams.
