Week 3 Outlook
The Jaguars traded FS Ronnie Harrison to the Browns in exchange for a fifth-round pick.
Harrison who just cleared concussion protocol on last Friday, was traded to the Browns on Thursday. He will compete with Andrew Sendejo for the starting free safety gig. Harrison racked up 43 solo tackles, two sacks, two interceptions and nine pass defenses across 14 games for the Jaguars in 2019.
Ronnie Harrison is questionable for Sunday's matchup with the Texans due to an ankle injury.
Harrison suffered a knee injury in last week's loss to the Chiefs but was not listed on the injury report all week, which makes it appear as if he tweaked his ankle sometime during practice. Look for more updates on his status to come during pregame warmups Sunday morning.
The Jaguars are placing rookie safety Ronnie Harrison on injured reserve due to a knee injury. His season is over.
Harrison injured his knee on the first defensive series of Sunday’s loss to the Redskins. The rookie had just taken over the starting job from veteran Barry Church two weeks ago. Church was released last week. Harrison’s season ends with 32 tackles, one sack, and one interception in 14 games (eight starts). He appears to have a promising future.
Jaguars safety Ronnie Harrison recorded five tackles (all solo) and one interception in Thursday night’s 30-9 loss to the Titans.
It was Harrison’s second game since taking the starting job from veteran Barry Church who was a healthy scratch Thursday. The rookie played all 60 of the Jaguars' defensive snaps and has eight tackles (seven solo) and one interception over the last two games. He will continue to hold the starting strong safety role next week against the Redskins.
Ronnie Harrison was third on the team with seven tackles in the big Week 2 win over the Patriots.
The Jaguars chose to make starting strongside linebacker Leon Jacobs a healthy scratch while playing Harrison more in a big nickel package. This game plan worked great as a counter to the Patriots offense. It will be interesting to see if this was game plan specific or if it sticks.
