2024 Outlook
Russell Gage is now a free agent with the Buccaneers declining his team option.

According to Auman when Tampa Bay reworked Gage's deal last year, it included an option for 2024 and the team declined to pick it up. He missed all of last season due to a knee injury.
Buccaneers WR Russell Gage will miss the 2023 season with the knee injury he suffered in practice Wednesday.
Fantasy Impact
Gage was carted off the field during Wednesday’s joint practice with the Jets. Head coach Todd Bowles stated Gage suffered a “pretty serious” non-contact injury. Although the team did not provide details on the injury, the Buccaneers know they will be without the 27-year-old wideout this season.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Russell Gage was carted off the field after being looked at by trainers Wednesday with an apparent leg injury. He was not putting weight on his leg.
Fantasy Impact
Gage joined the Buccaneers in 2022 after spending his first four seasons in Atlanta, totaling 1,556 yards over his final two years. With Tampa Bay, he played in 13 games, starting four, and he missed four games as he dealt with hamstring issues, finishing the year with 426 yards. Head coach Todd Bowles is expected to speak with the media after joint practice concludes. His situation should remain monitored.
Russell Gage, who has been slowly working his way back from a neck injury, is still not at 100%, according to Bucs' HC Todd Bowles.
Fantasy Impact
Gage suffered a scary-looking injury in the Bucs' wild-card round loss to Dallas, and the 27-year-old wideout is still working his way back to full strength. Gage took a pay cut earlier this offseason and is still clearly committed to performing well as he shifted some base salary to incentive-based financing. Gage will be behind Mike Evans and Chris Godwin on the depth chart when he is healthy, and with Brady out and Mayfield in all Bucs' wideouts should expect a hit in fantasy production. Gage is a back-end roster filler at best, with some upside thanks to an easier projected strength of schedule.
Russell Gage was at camp watching on Tuesday, but he was not practicing.
Fantasy Impact
Gage has been sidelined all of spring for the Buccaneers due to an undisclosed spring. His status will be one to monitor heading into training camp next month.
