Ryan Lindley plays entire game for Patriots

Ryan Lindley started and played the entire game at quarterback for the Patriots in Week Four of preseason against the Giants. Lindley completed 22 of 45 for 253 yards with one interception and a late fumble.

Fantasy Impact

With the news of Tom Brady's suspension being nullified it more than likely means the end of Ryan Lindley's career with the Patriots. The Patriots usually only carry two QBs and with Brady starting and Jimmy Garoppolo as his backup that leaves no room on the roster for Lindley. This game was a chance for him to show other teams what he could do. At this point Lindley has absolutely no fantasy value.

Ryan Lindley signs with the New England Patriots

Ryan Lindley has signed with the New England Patriots and will serve as the teams third string quarterback.

Fantasy Impact

Ryan Lindley was signed on as the Patriots third string quarterback as the Patriots had recently released Matt Flynn. Lindley may serve as a veteran back-up behind Jimmy Garoppolo if Tom Brady's suspension is upheld. Lindley started in 6 games for the Arizona Cardinals last season.

Ryan Lindley signs with New England

Ryan Lindley signed with the Patriots on Monday, the Boston Herald reports.

Fantasy Impact

The Patriots needed a third string quarterback after waiving Matt Flynn on Monday and did not wait long to replace him as they signed Ryan Lindley who last played for Arizona. Lindley is providing depth in training camp and may be the back up to Jimmy Garroppolo if Tom Brady ends up suspended for four games. Lindley has two career touch down passes to go with eleven interceptions. If he did have to start for the Patriots he would probably still not be a fantasy option.

Ryan Lindley and Cardinals historically bad

Ryan Lindley completed 16-of-28 passes for 77 yards with 1 TD and 2 INTs in Saturday's Wild Card loss to the Panthers.

Fantasy Impact

There is nothing hyperbolic in saying Lindley was awful. In a game that felt dominated by the Panthers, the Cardinal defense was able to keep the game within reach going into the 4th quarter. Frequently missing wide open receivers and making terrible decisions, Lindley has likely played his last game in the NFL. The Cardinals are expecting Carson Palmer to be back to open 2015 and Lindley will not be on the roster.

Ryan Lindley gets a playoff start

Coach Arians confirmed that Ryan Lindley will start for Arizona on Saturday.

Fantasy Impact

Drew Stanton's knee injury became infected and had to be worked on again. Lindley showed improvement in his 2nd start against the 49ers, throwing 2 TD passes. He also threw 3 costly INTs. Carolina's defense is peaking at the right time after being very pedestrian for the majority of the season. If you are looking to save cap space in DFS this weekend, Lindley has the arm and is in the right offensive scheme to stumble into a decent fantasy outing, but he's a risky play.
