Ramczyk missed all of last season with a knee injury. After spending 2017-23 with the Saints, he is a former two-time second-team All-Pro with one first-team All-Pro nod.

The original thought was that Ramczyk would only miss the first four games by being placed on the reserve/PUP list. Because he is a vested veteran and was placed on the list prior to the final roster reduction, he is required to miss the entire season. Trevor Penning is likely to now see the bulk of the snaps at RT.

In Dec. 2023, Ramczyk told reporters that he had cartilage deterioration in his knee that caused him to miss time in 2021 and 2023. He underwent offseason surgery after the 2023 season, but Saints head coach Dennis Allen said in March that Ramczyk's recovery was not going at the speed that was expected. If Ramczyk does not see his 21-day window opened after the first four weeks and is not activated in that timeframe, he will be forced to miss the season. This will likely force Trevor Penning back into a starting role at RT.
