San Francisco 49ers
DST - SF
The San Francisco 49ers are hiring former Panthers interim head coach Steve Wilks as their defensive coordinator, replacing DeMeco Ryans.
After Matt Rhule was fired in Carolina, Steve Wilks turned the season around for the Panthers, taking them to a 6-6 record despite trading away RB Christian McCaffrey. Under Wilks, the Panthers only allowed 21 points per game and averaged 2.25 sacks with a turnover forced per game. After failing to get the head coaching gig in Carolina, Wilks ends up in a prime situation with a plethora of talent available.
The San Francisco 49ers D/ST registered two interceptions in the team's 37-34 Week 17 win over the Raiders.
The 49ers D/ST shockingly produced one of their worst defensive efforts of the season against backup QB Jarrett Stidham and the Raiders, as they allowed 34 points and 500 total yards of offense. They did come up clutch in overtime with an interception, resulting in the game-winning field goal to hand the 49ers their ninth consecutive victory. The 49ers D/ST should rebound in a big way against the lowly Cardinals in the season finale.
The San Francisco 49ers D/ST recorded two sacks, one interception, and one fumble in the team's 37-20 Week 16 win over the Commanders.
The 49ers D/ST produced a rock-solid effort to help extend their winning streak to 8 games. They notched a pair of turnovers and completely shut down the Commanders' run game. The 49ers D/ST will be a locked-in top five play for fantasy purposes in Las Vegas for Week 17.
The 49ers' D/ST logged three sacks and allowed 13 points in Thursday's divisional win over the Seattle Seahawks.
San Francisco's defense continued it's stretch of dominance on Thursday, allowing only 13 points to a usually-productive Seattle offense. They didn't make any big plays, but they also didn't allow any big plays to be made against them. They've been stellar this season and remain a strong start for the rest of the season.
The San Francisco 49ers D/ST registered two interceptions and one fumble in the team's 35-7 Week 14 win over the Buccaneers.
The 49ers D/ST pitched a shutout in the first half, and ultimately produced another strong performance this week against Tom Brady and the Buccaneers. This was actually their first game this season without a sack, though the three takeaways easily made up for it. The 49ers D/ST will remain a top five fantasy option versus the Seahawks in Week 15.
