Week 8 Outlook
The Oakland Raiders and CB Sean Smith reached an agreement on a four-year, $40 million deal on Thursday.
The Oakland Raiders helped themselves while hurting a division foe by inking former Kansas City Chiefs cornerback Sean Smith. Smith will help solidify a Raiders' defense that finished 2015 ranked 26th against the pass.
After pleading guilty to DUI and receiving two years probation in June, Sean Smith was given a three-game suspension by the NFL for violating the league's substance abuse policy.
First-round pick Marcus Peters, Phillip Gaines and Jamell Fleming will all fill in for Smith in his absence.
Smith ended the game with 4 total tackles and no turnovers forced, but had two pass defenses in the Chiefs' loss to the Cardinals Sunday.
Even though the Chiefs lost to the Cardinals, the defense only gave up 17 points. Smith should be a dominant player next week against the Raiders, will a decent chance to force a turnover.
Sean Smith is battling through a groin issue and is probable for Sundays game against Drew Stanton and the Cardinals.
Smith is the Chief's number one cover corner, and has one of the teams four total interceptions this season. He and the Chiefs will look to up that number against a reeling Arizona team on Sunday.
