The Browns signed No. 144 overall pick QB Shedeur Sanders to a four-year contract.

Sanders will earn $4.6 million on the rookie deal. He will compete Joe Flacco, Kenny Pickett and fellow rookie Dillon Gabriel this offseason for the Week 1 starting job.

Browns coach Kevin Stefanski said QB Shedeur Sanders is “willing to put in the work” this offseason.

Sanders fell all the way to the fifth-round in the NFL Draft this month. Despite that, he still enters a wide open Browns quarterback room. “None of these guys are finished products, and Shedeur certainly has things he can work on,” Stefanski said. “But in terms of the person, in terms of the kid who’s willing to work, I think that’s who we’re getting. ... We’re getting a guy that really is not so concerned about where he landed in this draft, but he is willing to put in the work and that’s what we’re going to do.” It will continue to be a competition between Sanders, Kenny Pickett, Dillon Gabriel and Joe Flacco.

After a long, long wait, Sanders is finally off the board. He joins Dillon Gabriel as the second quarterback drafted by Cleveland. They will both compete with Deshaun Watson, Kenny Pickett and Joe Flacco in the Browns quarterback room.

Former Colorado QB Shedeur Sanders will hold “one last private workout” for representatives from the Giants on Thursday.

This will be a final chance for Sanders to show off his skillset in front of the Giants with the No. 3 pick ahead of the draft next week. Where Sanders will be drafted remains completely up in the air with him most being connected to the Saints as of late.
