Stephen Morris

One day after being released by the Seahawks, the Houston Texans have claimed quarterback Stephen Morris off waivers.

Fantasy Impact

Morris will compete with Brandon Weeden and Joe Webb for a roster spot behind Deshaun Watson. Morris has yet to attempt an NFL pass and will have a hard time making Houston's 53-man roster behind Weeden, who has years in this system, and Webb, who profiles as an athletic fit similar to Watson.

Exactly one month after signing with Seattle, journeyman quarterback Stephen Morris was waived by the Seahawks, who will enter the summer with Austin Davis and seventh-rounder Alex McGough behind Russell Wilson.

Fantasy Impact

Morris went undrafted in 2014 before joining Jacksonville's practice squad. He's also had stints with Eagles and Colts but has yet to be active for an NFL game. Morris will probably get a camp invite somewhere but will have a difficult time earning a backup job in the NFL.

Former undrafted free agent quarterback Stephen Morris has joined the Seattle Seahawks as Russell Wilson's backup.

Fantasy Impact

Morris played at Miami (FL.) and has bounced around the league with the Jaguars, Eagles, and Colts while never attempting an NFL pass. Seattle had no direct backup behind Russell Wilson after passing on a planned workout with Colin Kaepernick. Morris will certainly be joined by competition via the draft or free agency to hold the clipboard behind Wilson.

Stephen Morris has been waived by the Colts after acquiring Jacoby Brissett from the Patriots. Morris could be a candidate for the practice squad.

Fantasy Impact

The Colts decided to roll with Scott Tolzien and Jacoby Brissett with Andrew Luck out with an injury. Morris could resurface as a third-string QB.

Stephen Morris continues his solid play in the preseason with 143 yards passing on 12-for-16 attempts. Morris failed to toss a TD in this game but also didn't turn the ball over. With Andrew Luck's status in questions, Morris or Scott Tolzien will start.

Fantasy Impact

At this point, it seems like Scott Tolzien will be starting in place of Luck if he can't go in Week 1. However, Morris could see some action this season and is out playing Tolzien by the numbers. If Luck is out, fire up those DFS against the Colts.
