Stetson Bennett IV has been named the primary backup for the Rams Week 1 game against the 49ers, with Ty Simpson as the emergency QB3.
Fantasy Impact
Simpson still needs development so this doesn’t come as much surprise. Bennett is a fine QB2, but hopefully he won’t see the field unless it’s a blowout.
Stetson Bennett IV is officially inactive for Week 2.
Fantasy Impact
Bennett will be inactive as he is seemingly cemented as the third-string quarterback behind Matthew Stafford and Jimmy Garoppolo.
Stetson Bennett completed 17-of-31 pass attempts for 213 yards, one touchdown, and one interception in the Rams' 13-9 win over the Chargers Saturday.
Fantasy Impact
Bennett continues to struggle with consistency behind center when called upon an continues to be an uninspiring QB2 on the depth chart behind starter Matthew Stafford for head coach Sean McVay.
Rams QB Stetson Bennett completed 24-of-38 pass attempts for 224 yards, with one touchdown, and four interceptions in a win over the Cowboys.
Fantasy Impact
Bennett connected with Miller Forristall on a six-yard touchdown pass to close out the game and secure the win for the Rams. He will have to clean up the turnovers if he hopes to make a case for the QB2 job with the Rams.
Rams QB Stetson Bennett will “get a bunch of work” in the preseason, per head coach Sean McVay.
Fantasy Impact
Bennett will likely see the bulk of the playing time in the preseason after McVay stated that Jimmy Garoppolo will not play in the preseason. Bennett missed the 2023 season after being placed on the reserve/non-football injury list due to personal reasons.
