Steven Hauschka stays perfect in Bills loss

Buffalo Bills K Steven Hauschka again converted on each of his attempts in his team's week 5 road loss to the Cincinnati Bengals. Hauschka connected from 31, 38 and 28 yards, as well as converting on his lone PAT try.

Fantasy Impact

While not called upon to convert any long distance, late game attempts as he was last week, extending his season long streak of attempts without a miss illustrates Haushcka's reliability, both for the Bills and for fantasy. He remains a solid starting option at the position.

Steven Hauschka extends impressive streak in Bills win

Buffalo Bills PK Steven Hauschka converted all three of his FG attempts on Sunday, including two clutch, long distance kicks late in the game, to help his team score an upset road victory over the previously undefeated Atlanta Falcons. Hauschka converted from 24, 55 and 56 yards in the contest, the latter two extending his streak of converting on 50+ yard kicks to 11 straight. Hauschka also converted each of his two PAT attempts.

Fantasy Impact

With this streak, Hauschka has played his way onto the short list of most reliable kickers in the league, especially from long distance. The Bills offense is still not dynamic enough to elevate him to elite status at his position, but his production has been undeniable, and has made him viable as an every week fantasy starter.

Steven Hauschka prolific in Bills victory

Buffalo Bills PK Steven Hauschka had a spectacular afternoon in his team's upset home victory over the previously undefeated Denver Broncos. Hauschka went 4-for-4 on his FG attempts, including two from 53 yards out. He also converted each of his two PAT attempts.

Fantasy Impact

Hauschka is a reliable, talented and experienced NFL kicker. The main drawback on him for fantasy was an uncertainty about the Bills offense and their ability to give him scoring opportunities. One might have thought that a matchup against one of the leagues toughest defenses would not have offered those opportunities, but clearly that was not the case. While not among the upper echelon at the position, this performance would seem to confirm Hauschka's viability as a weekly fantasy starter.

Steven Hauschka converts lone FG attempt in loss

Buffalo Bills PK Steven Hauschka accounted for all of the team's scoring in their Week 2 road loss to the Carolina Panthers. Hauschka converted on his only attempt from 45 yards in the 4th quarter.

Fantasy Impact

Hauschka is a reasonably reliable kicker (his awful shank in Week 1 notwithstanding), but his team's offense simply is not dynamic enough to reliably put him in a position to score with any consistency. He should only be used as a bye week or injury replacement option at the position in 10 or 12 team leagues.

Steven Hauschka shanks lone FG attempt in Bills debut

After a pre-season which saw him convert on each of his FG attempts, Buffalo Bills PK Steven Hauschka had an ugly miss on his first and only try from 46 yards in his regular season debut for his new team, a home victory over the New York Jets. He was able to slightly salvage his day by converting each of his three PAT attempts.

Fantasy Impact

The failed FG attempt took a hard hook left and was nowhere close to the mark. It's unclear if the fault lies with Hauschka or with the wind, but in either case, it has to make the Bills, and any Haushka owners in fantasy, nervous. There are worse kickers you can roster for fantasy, but there are also likely better ones during non-bye weeks. If you're currently using Hauschka, it's advisable to seek out a replacement from that latter group.
