Steven Hauschka converts FG in Bills debut

Buffalo Bills K Steven Hauschka made his debut for his new team in their preseason opener, a home loss to the Minnesota Vikings on Thursday night. He wasn't called on to do much, but made the most of his limited work, connecting on his only attempt - a 42 yard 2nd quarter field goal.

Fantasy Impact

Hauschka has been a reliable and valuable fantasy kicker during his six year tenure with the Seattle Seahawks. Now with the Bills, his value takes a dip, due to playing for a less dynamic team, and the potential for difficult weather conditions in Buffalo. He is an above average fantasy kicker, but not an automatic starter.

Steven Hauschka likely to sign with Bills

ESPN's Adam Schefter is reporting the former Seattle Seahawks kicker Steven Hauschka is expected to sign with the Buffalo Bills Thursday.

Fantasy Impact

Hauschka's tenure in Seattle is over after six years with the club. The free agent kicker is expected to sign with Buffalo Thursday. Hauschka was successful on 33-of-37 field goal attempts, good for 89.2 percent, and 29-of-35 extra point attempts in 2016 and was reliable more times than not throughout the year. Despite being a top fantasy kicker in recent years, singing with Buffalo will likely hinder his value for 2017.

Steven Hauschka poised to play for new team in 2017

Seattle Seahawks beat writer Bob Condotta believes there will be a "changing of the guard" at the placekicker position since the team signed Blair Walsh last week and with Steven Hauschka poised to test the open free agent market.

Fantasy Impact

Hauschka, a nine-year veteran, is not expected to re-sign with the Seahawks this offseason due to the team's acquisition of Blair Walsh last week. However, even with Hauschka's likely departure, the starting place kicker job is not a lock to be handed to Walsh. Condotta expects the Seahawks to "at least bring in another free agent, not necessarily a veteran but an undrafted rookie or younger player" to compete with, and push, Walsh for the job.

Steven Hauschka has a monster game to close the season

Seattle Seahawks place kicker Steven Hauschka converted all four of his field goal tries, and one of two extra point attempts, in a 25 - 23 victory over the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday.

Fantasy Impact

Hauschka was one of the stranger kickers for fantasy owners this season. While he was a strong play in terms of field goals, he regularly botched extra points (among the league leaders in missed extra points). The upside of Seattle's offense will lock Hauschka in as a top 10 kicker again next season, and he should be able to tighten up his extra point kicking in the offseason.

Steven Hauschka struggles in Week 16

Steven Hauschka made one of his two field goal attempts on Saturday against the Cardinals, a chip shot from 27 yards out. He also made just two of his three point after attempts.

Fantasy Impact

Hauschka missed a PAT in the waning seconds of the game, which would have put the Seahawks ahead, though the Cardinals hit a game-winning field goal anyway. This is now three straight weeks for Hauschka with only one field goal, and fantasy owners should look elsewhere for kicking help in Week 17.
