The Saints signed TE Stone Smartt to their practice squad.
Fantasy Impact
Smartt will add depth in the tight end room for New Orleans heading into the season.
The Eagles signed TE Stone Smartt to a one-year contract.
Fantasy Impact
Smartt spent last season in a depth role with the Jets. He'll remain in a similar role with the Eagles.
Stone Smartt caught all five of his targets for 34 yards in the Jets' 29-6 loss to the Saints in Week 16.
Fantasy Impact
Smartt made the most of increased usage in the New York offense, recording more than one target for the first time this season Sunday. The tight end can remain off rosters in all formats ahead of a tough Week 17 contest against the New England Patriots.
Stone Smartt (concussion) logged a limited practice session on Thursday.
Fantasy Impact
A concussion may leave Smartt sidelined in Week 15, as he has yet to be cleared from the NFL's concussion protocols. Mason Taylor (neck) is also at risk of being sidelined this week, so it looks like Jeremy Ruckert may see more work than usual against the Jaguars this week.
Stone Smartt failed to catch his only target in the Jets' 34-10 loss to the Dolphins in Week 14.
Fantasy Impact
Smartt remains a non-factor on offense, registering his first target in 11 games. The tight end can remain out of lineups in all formats, with a Week 15 contest against the Jacksonville Jaguars up next.
